Renowned for its exceptional climate, Briançon has nearly 300 days of sunshine a year much to the pleasure of visitors all seasons round.

During winter, skiers are enjoy the 250km of slopes at the Serre-Chevalier ski resort.

During Summer, a whole range of activities are possible, walking, climbing, canyoning, mountain biking, cycling, tennis, water sports, canoeing, rafting, paraglyder, hydrospeed, fishing and swimming.

Close to the Italian border, Briançon has been a strategically important town.
